I found this question from the facebook group. Many of the Amazon FBA experts recommended not to start into the business.
I also agree with other sellers.
Can I start the Amazon FBA business at $300?
Yes, you can! But, you may lose all your money in a few days. Of course, Amazon will start to charge extra fees for tons of things. You may end up spending more than your budget, $300 if you fail.
(If it's a private label product)
On the other hand, it's possible to be successful selling on Amazon if you find the perfect products, great images on your sales page, and all correct keywords.
I found products that are constantly selling without running PPC. One of them is a pretty cheap buying price product so that I can make decent profits. And, another one I am constantly selling is the expansive purchase product which is no other sellers are trying to sell on Amazon.
Both products, I don't run PPC. All I need is to check the listing to make sure I have my Buy Now button and send the products to the Amazon FBA when it's running out of inventory.
It was not easy to find these products.
I tried to sell so many different products, but most of them are not that great selling numbers without running PPC.
Here are some you should know before starting the Amazon FBA
Amazon fees: The business owners usually start the Amazon FBA business, hoping to make some great sales. And, they begin to struggle and get upset with Amazon fees. They usually have their stores and storage. All private label products they are selling at their stores should be popular and trendy.
They think about the display of the products for their buyers to find popular products easily in-store. When they make sales, they get profits.
When these business owners start Amazon business, they would complain about the Amazon storage fees, ranking factors, giveaways, reviews, and very small profits. Their physical stores and Amazon FBA are a totally different business model.
If you try to sell popular products which other sellers are already selling on Amazon, you may need to compete for prices, increasing more coupons, and giveaways to make your listing visible.
I have been working at the grocery store as a designer; I had to create ads every week. Each week, I received a price sheet that has organized the products profit margins. So, I can make a design which products are deeply discounted.
Did you know that the biggest grocery stores' profit margins are around .1~$5 per each product selling? Of course, not all products, but the most of daily products are that low.
Small profits are not a big issue.
When I find 20 different products that are selling 3 or more every day and have $5 pure profit per each product, 20x3x5, $300 earn each day. $9000 for a month earn.
This is my goal, and I am still actively testing many different products on the market.
Software: Software is not a must, but highly recommended for finding keywords and use them to your sales page. To me to research on products, to find keywords, running PPC, follow up emails to customers, check product ranking, protecting buy now buttons, and checking my listings are indexed keywords. With all these, I use the Helium10 software.
Buying Products from Alibaba or 1688 sites: You can easily use the Alibaba.com to find the products easily. Most of them will offer less than 100 units to buy. I highly suggest finding the product that is lightweight, not easy to break, and less than $1 per product.
Let's say, you purchase 50 units for $50 and $50 for shipping. $100

Amazon FBA product preparation, barcode sticker and polybag. Around $35
Listing main image background remove. It's required to remove background to a pure white for 1 main image. You can find who does it for you at Fiverr.com. $5

Yes, you can start your Amazon FBA business at $300, but this budget will burn out quickly.
Again let's go back to the question, "If you had to start all over with only $300 what steps would you take?"
If you still want to try the Amazon business, this is what I will do.
I will visit the Walmart clearance section, and find good products and buy. Resell them to the Amazon.
With the Amazon, all you need is to find already ranked identical product listing and add mine with the lowest price I can sell. When I make sales, I send the product to the customers' addresses. Or, you can send the products to Amazon to start the FBA with small quantity products.
If you want to do a Dropship with Amazon works during the Christmas season, but after holidays, people prefer the Prime to purchase.
Amazon business is more likely to need the cash flow. If you can spend around $1000 for trying the Amazon business, I will highly suggest starting it. But, at $300 to start? I will say no.
Then, what would be the other suggestions for you? Maybe eBay? Your own website to do a dropship?

I purchased their lifetime deal years ago, and they constantly added new features. I thought I found a golden entrepreneur full of trustworthy.
But, I was wrong.
They don't support any of their software: no support ticket, no responding to their emails. No one cares about their promises.
I recently tried to find any information about this vendor, so many negative feedbacks only left behind.
They seem to expand their business more and more and fail and fail. Right after the Smart Member membership software, they started to have a community as if a school to teach people about the entrepreneurship.
I remember to join their program was around $1000~$3000 or more.
Now, I can find so many upset students and team members who joined.
They are now trying to open another business model.
I keep realizing that I should never invest in the new software developer team or the business members.
In my experience, the average online software lifetime is about max three years. We can't identify who would abandon their promises.
But, one thing, I always caution to the leader who speaks too well in front of the camera. Not all, but most of them are only purposely to sell their products, not keep their promises.
I really hope the Smart Member is not a scam. But, It seems the software would not support the customers. They are still alive, but https errors and no ways to contact their team.

It's a message from the Amazon to the seller that the account has been suspended and all his listings are closed.
Amazon is asking for the product Invoice that he was selling. Unfortunately, he does not have the invoice. I have no idea why and what he was trying to do. All I can see in the letter shows that this seller sold the counterfeit product(s).
I can easily find fake products that have high leveled, well-made ones. And, some sellers think that's the money to sell. If you sell these products on Amazon, what happens? Suddenly, your account will be suspended, and all listings will be deleted.
Amazon holds your money for two weeks. You will not get money from the Amazon.
This seller who received the message from the Amazon might not be possible to provide the real invoice if he already knew his products are counterfeit.
Valuable products have unique numbers on each product. Let's imagine he was selling the Rolex watches. He can consider buying the real Rolex watch and send the invoice to the Amazon to pretend that he was reselling the Rolex watches. This is one of the methods other experienced sellers teach on their online courses.
If you do a dropshipping on Amazon, you would sometimes receive a message from the Amazon requesting to provide the invoice.
To use the Amazon platform to sell the products are possible to succeed in your selling business. But, as increasing the number of sellers and consumers, counterfeit cases are also increasing. It happened to the eBay.
I purchased many electronic products at eBay before Amazon became popular. And, I ended up losing money for the counterfeit products. It is the best platform for selling fake ones in a short time. If they have many negative feedbacks, they delete the eBay account and easily recreate one again. And repeat.
Amazon offers a free return to customers. If it's a counterfeit product, Amazon immediately suspends the seller's account and ask for an invoice.
If you consider selling the fake products on Amazon, stop thinking about it. It's too easy to return as a customer and easy losing money as a seller.

How to create Amazon Listing Variations or merge other listings?
If you are trying to create a Variation-s- under the listing does not have a parent listing, you want to check this information.
I contacted the Amazon support team to ask how to create a variation on my existing listing that does not have variations -Child listing-.
They replied back to me with a long process and confusions on each task. They suggested using the Excel template to download from the right category and fill out the product information. I have done this so many times to upload listings if there are more than 5 products.
Yes, it's faster.
But, it takes time and so many errors I found from the listing. And, I had to wait up to 24 hours to check the listing.
So, I tried a different method to create a child listing from the existing active listing that does not have a parent listing.
**PLEASE NOTE:: BEFORE YOU PROCEED THE METHOD, MAKE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR LISTING INFORMATION. Title, Images, and ASIN will automatically merge, but your bullet point, description, and backend keywords will be disappeared. You cannot retrieve the information. When it's gone, it's GONE.
Create a NEW LISTING. Select the right category.
Fill out on the Vital Info page -You can add any title, Skip the UPC code, Fill out the other information such as product manufacturers and brand name-
Offer page to choose the Amazon takes care of all if you will sell as an Amazon Prime. If you missed this part to choose, you could do it after creating a listing.
Go to the Variations to add your existing SKU and ASIN. And, add other variations.
Skip other pages
Hit SAVE and FINISH
Wait for about 12 hours.
When you come back to the listing will start to see your existing listing changed to the child listing.
Now, you can start to add images to other new variations you created.
